Mahboba’s Promise was founded by Mahboba Rawi, an Afghan refugee and now an Australian citizen, who has experienced first-hand the effects of a country torn apart by years of war and civil unrest. Since 1998, Mahboba’s Promise has established schools, shelters and health clinics across Afghanistan and provided numerous sponsorships to widows and orphans in need.

Our vision is to provide a sustainable future within a secure environment for disadvantaged Afghan women and children.
We are a not-for-profit organisation working in both Afghanistan and Australia, engaged with local communities to affect positive and sustainable change.
While we believe firmly in self-sufficiency and long-term development, sometimes emergency relief is necessary. That is why we strive to provide relief to those affected by natural disasters and conflict.
Mahboba's Promise leads the way in supporting widows and orphans faith-inspired times like Qurban and Ramadan. We offer crucial assistance and a sense of community, and unity during these sacred moments.
Sustainable development in war-torn Afghanistan is our mission. We do this through several self-sufficient projects, including our Permaculture Farm and Confectionery Factory.
We strengthen the future of impoverished youth and women by providing them with the tools and skills to build resilient and self-sufficient homes and livelihoods.
